Thoreau's Leaves: the Thoreau Podcast provides atmospheric immersion
into the world and work of
Henry David Thoreau

Episodes span Thoreau's celebrated writing, his lesser-known masterpieces, and his journal, his lifelong exercise in mindfulness, whose vast pages capture his commitment to a nonconformist life in nature and his evolution as a writer. Even more than his timeless and masterful book Walden, or his clarion call of an essay "Walking," the journal was Thoreau's life work. Like so much of Thoreau's writing, the thoughts and impressions recorded on these daily leaves retain a power for us today: the power to recenter, uplift, console, and inspire.
"Simply Nourishing:
So happy to have found this podcast. Thoreau's writings are rich, but vast, so a guide is welcome company, and M. Allen Cunningham makes a wonderful host. The selections are tenderly, thoughtfully read, and are moving enough
on their own - the accompanying sounds and soundtracks accentuate them wonderfully. Looking forward to listening and re-listening for
a long time to come."
